This policy explains what information Access Wiser Inc. collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it in plain English.

Who we are

Access Wiser Inc. (“AccessWiser”, “we”, “us”) is a company based in Orlando, Florida, USA. We operate this marketing website and provide the AccessWiser service: an accessibility widget that our customers install on their websites, together with a customer dashboard for managing it. This policy covers both the website and the service. Where the widget runs on a customer's website, that customer remains responsible for their own site's privacy practices — this policy describes what AccessWiser itself does.

Information we collect

  • Account details. When you create an AccessWiser account we collect your name, email address, and basic company information. Payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor; we receive confirmation of payment and limited billing metadata, but full card numbers never touch our systems.
  • Usage analytics. We collect information about how the marketing site and the customer dashboard are used — pages viewed, features clicked, browser type, device category, and approximate location derived from IP address. We use this in aggregate to understand what is working and what needs improvement.
  • Support communications. If you email us, we keep the correspondence — including your email address and anything you choose to include — so we can respond and improve our support.
  • Widget end-user preferences. When a visitor to a customer's website adjusts accessibility settings through the AccessWiser widget (for example contrast, text size, or reduced motion), those choices are stored locally in the visitor's own browser. They stay on the visitor's device and are not transmitted to AccessWiser unless the customer has configured the widget otherwise.

In short: visitor accessibility choices made through the widget stay on the visitor's device by default. The personal data we hold ourselves relates to our customers — the people who create accounts and pay for the service.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies keep you signed in to the dashboard and protect against cross-site request forgery; the service does not work without them. Analytics cookies on the marketing site help us understand aggregate traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in. The widget itself stores end-user preferences in local browser storage rather than in tracking cookies.

How we use information

  • Providing, operating, and maintaining the AccessWiser service
  • Processing subscriptions and payments through our payment processor
  • Responding to support requests and other enquiries
  • Understanding aggregate usage so we can improve the product and this website
  • Protecting the service against fraud, abuse, and security threats
  • Sending service communications such as billing notices and important product updates
  • Complying with legal obligations

We do not use personal information for cross-site behavioral advertising.

Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (improving and securing the service, in ways we judge do not override your rights), consent (for things like non-essential cookies and marketing emails — which you can withdraw at any time), and legal obligation (for example retaining billing records for tax purposes).

How we share information

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run AccessWiser — hosting, payment processing, email delivery, and analytics — under contracts that limit what they may do with it. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a corporate transaction such as a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy will continue to apply to the data transferred.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed there. If you use AccessWiser from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with data transfer rules, your information will be transferred to the US. Where required, we rely on recognized safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you reactivate it or a dispute arises. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Support correspondence is kept long enough to resolve the issue and improve our support. When we no longer need personal data, we delete it or anonymize it.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, or another region with similar data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure: ask us to delete your personal data where we have no overriding reason to keep it.
  • Portability: receive the data you provided to us in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection and restriction: object to processing based on our legitimate interests, or ask us to restrict processing while a dispute is resolved.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, though we would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

California residents: under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will never discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Children's privacy

AccessWiser is a business tool. Neither this website nor the service is directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Because the widget stores end-user accessibility preferences on the visitor's own device by default, child visitors to our customers' websites do not transmit personal information to us. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect the information we hold, including encryption in transit, access controls, and the principle of least privilege for our own staff. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we work continuously to protect your data, and if a breach affects you we will notify you as required by applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will give you reasonable advance notice — for example by email or a notice in the dashboard.
